Bacon Onion Fried Rice

 

This recipe puts takeout Chinese to shame! Delicious and flavorful. You'll never need Chinese takeout again.

 

  • 8 ounces of bacon, chopped (can also use ham, spam, shrimp, chicken.)
  • 1 small white onion, chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons soy sauce (to taste)
  • green onions, chopped for garnish
  • 1 pkt " The Dippin Family" Oink 'N' Onion dip mix
  • Sesame Oil
  • Soy Sauce

 

~ To start, add your chopped bacon to a medium sized skillet or work. Cook over medium high heat until it is crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain the grease leaving about 2 tablespoons of grease.

~ Next, add your Oink 'N Onion dip mix, chopped onion and frozen peas and carrots and sauté for 1-2 minutes until they are tender.

~ Slide your veggies to one side and add the beaten egg to the other side. Scramble the egg until it is cooked through and combine it with the peas and carrots.

~ Add cooked rice and bacon back to the skillet and combine. Add in sesame oil and soy sauce to taste. Let it heat through and serve immediately.

 

 

 Bacon Onion Gravy


Delicious Gravy to brighten up any dish from Mashed Potatoes to Turkey!

  • 1 pkt "The Dippin Family" Oink 'N Onion dip mix , unprepared
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water

 

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add in the onion and cook for about 30 minutes or until brown.

~ Stir in Worcestershire sauce, beef bouillon,  Oink 'N' Onion dip mix, and beef stock then bring to a boil before reducing to a simmer for 20 minutes.

~ Stir in the cornstarch and water mixture, and continue to whisk until thick, about one to two minutes.

 

Serve over Mashed potatoes, turkey, or more.
